This shoot was such a dream! Just chock *full* of wedding day inspiration. And, also so much fun to photograph!  

The Southwestern desert is often overlooked in the hunt for a wedding setting. What may seem desolate and barren is actually full to the brim with style and elegance. I love the clean and bright backdrop of the simple landscape. The interesting textures of desert vegetation. It’s striking orange-red tones of the stone hillsides. The quality of the setting sun’s light reflected on the vast expanse of earth. The desert is just simply stunning.  

There is a lot to be said about these gowns. The pastel colors of these gowns combined with the rose, peach, and cream florals provided a stunning palette. And added an ethereal touch to the already dreamy desert. There are so many wonderful shades of wedding gowns these days! Often these subtle pastels complement skin tones better than a white dress does.

The florals for this shoot were also perfectly paired to their coordinating gowns. Beautiful silk ribbons added to the bouquets adding movement in the breeze.  Silk is such an organic and refined fabric. A simple way to add elegance and depth to your bridal bouquets, and your overall wedding day ensemble.  

In keeping with the desert palette, the invitation suite was designed with pastel and earth tones. It also featured a beautiful clay paint that was applied by hand.  

The setting with the styling selections equaled pure perfection. This whole shoot was truly a desert wedding inspiration, down to the tiniest details.

For my photography, I focused on capturing the movement of the desert winds. The movement of the fabric in the breeze, combined with the earthy, desolate but oh-so-elegant landscapes. Just what the Nevada Desert is known for. And while the clouds provided a beautiful soft light diffusion during most of our shoot. The sun came through in a dramatic fashion just in time for sunset. Painting the sky in deep, purply blues and golden orange. The hint of sun complimented the dramatic gold and magenta orchid bouquet and darker, moodier makeup of our last model, Shelbi, most perfectly.  

Did I already mention how much fun this was to shoot? Seriously dreamy. Everything desert wedding dreams are made of!
