Freya + Steven, a playful, Lego-themed Wedding at Pomona College in Claremont, CA

These two love birds just spent two years apart while the bride, Freya, pursued her MBA from UC Berkeley, only to reunite back where it all began for their wedding day! Our groom, Steven, now works at his Alma Mater, Pomona College. And since he first met his blushing bride there (while she studied at the neighbor and rival Claremont McKenna) they both decided it would be the perfect place to seal their love! 

Bridges Music Hall was one of their favorite buildings on the Pomona College Campus. Freya couldn’t help but cry the sweetest tears through most of their wedding ceremony there. With its majestic wood-beamed ceiling and massive organ, the hall certainly had an ethereal, almost church-like atmosphere. So when Freya and Steven performed the blessed biblical tradition of washing each other’s feet – there was not a dry eye in the house – especially Freya’s! But for all her sweet tears this no-nonsense Bride also knew how to let loose and have fun on the dance floor (I mean, this is the same girl who insisted on driving herself  – and me – to her own wedding!)  

Ever the fun and playful couple, Freya and Steven chose colorful Legos as their reception theme. Using Duplo blocks to help guests find their table assignments. Bowls of Legos as centerpieces that guests could build and play with while waiting for their dinner.  They even had a giant Lego Castle that took them hours and hours to build together! And of course the cutest little Lego Bride and Groom Cake Topper you ever did see!  And to complement the fun and playful wedding theme? How about the First dance to Weird Al Yankovic?  Haha!  I had such a blast capturing this special day for these two. Can’t wait to dig into their images some more!
