I’m so excited to visit with Stephanie and Devin again this weekend and deliver their gorgeous Wedding Album! So in honor of that occasion I wanted to share some of their romantic day here as well. Every single detail of this modern classic seaside wedding at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse in San Diego Harbor had me swooning. From the elegant black and white color palette (with shimmering gold highlights) to the contagious joy of the whole day, and to the stunning ceremony view of the blue ocean and the San Diego city skyline.
Stephanie + Devin started their day started at the San Diego Hilton, which backs up to the Harbor and all its adorable boats! Stephanie’s dress was absolutely stunning. The dress, made of delicate lace with scalloped edges, crystal details at the waist, and a lace-up back. I was a bit shocked when she told me she would be wearing Crocs on her wedding day! Ummmmm…. are you sure that’s a good idea? But she assured me her talented friend was blinging them out with hand-fastened pearls, and they would be adorable. She was right! Who knew wedding shoes could be so comfortable and cute?
Stephanie + Devin shared their first look at the Hilton. Followed by rounding up their wedding party to cross the street for some photos in front of the water. All before we all made our way over to the Lighthouse for the Ceremony and Reception.
The Lighthouse ceremony lawn features a modern metal sculpted arch that perfectly frames the couple against a backdrop of the sea and the San Diego skyline. The emotion really hit home and both Stephanie and Devin held back tears. Stephanie, flanked by her two brothers, made her way down the aisle. Then not a dry eye in the house remained as they shared their vows.
I loved how their wedding was so beautiful and classic, but with enough personal touches. Like an Indiana Jones hat, Devin has had for eons, little things to let their fun-loving personalities shine through. Also loved that they found a way to incorporate their fur babies. They could not be in attendance for the festivities, in their adorable silhouette cake topper! Other fun details included a game table, a Ferrero Rocher Seating Chart (yum!), and an awesome Photobooth by my favorite San Diego Photo Booth company, Union Booth! (Their booths are so stinking cute, and the guys who run it are just awesome, check them out).
And if all of that wasn’t fun enough – they ended the night with a ribbon wand grand exit! Love that their guests could take those wands home too! Use it after as some cute decor for your pencil jar, or a fun cat toy – you decide!!
I definitely need to give extra props to SD Weddings by Gina for her planning expertise on this one, Nadine from Studio Fleurish for all the stunning floral design (did you see that bouquet?? swoon!), and DJ Troy (TNT Mobile Entertainment) for being chill, low key, but super fun! And of course, a shoutout to my Second Photographer Extraordinaire, Christina McLennan; couldn’t do it without her by my side!
