Lexie and Jake envisioned a charming garden soiree for their picture-perfect wedding day, and they found everything they wanted at Green Gables Wedding Estate. Although Lexie and Jake already exchanged vows in a civil union, military life prevented them from having the big wedding of their dreams – until now.

I first hung out with these lovebirds at their engagement session a few months prior. It was immediately clear how absolutely crazy these two are about each other. (I’ll have to link that session when I post it). And their love was equally palpable on their wedding day.  

Lexie + Jake chose San Diego’s Green Gables Wedding Estate for its vintage charm and cute garden setting. Complete with a picturesque historic schoolhouse, a grand bridal parlor, and gentlemen’s speakeasy, Green Gables has the amenities to get ready and hold your ceremony and reception all in one venue. Add in a sprawling rose garden, sweeping peppercorn trees, and vintage charm galore, and you’ll quickly see why Green Gables is one of North County’s best kept Secret Gardens.

Charming as their venue is, what really stood out to me about this day is how incredibly sweet and emotional Lexie, Jake, and their families are. This wedding was not just a formality, done after the fact – it was a real Celebration with a capital “C”. A true testament of their love and of overcoming each obstacle life has thrown in their way over the years. Tender moments between Lexie and her Mom, the First Look with Dad, tearful vows, heartfelt speeches, tugged at all the heart strings.
