So don't worry about creating that "picture-perfect" setting, and embrace the fleeting nature of these moments we'll never get back. Think of our session as a little nature walk with your family; I’m just peeking in on your day together.
At each of my sessions I really strive to create an environment of fun! This is an opportunity for you all to disconnect from other obligations and just enjoy spending some quality time together. We all do best at photoshoots when we are free to be ourselves. I have witnessed the most genuine, twinkling smiles fade into forced “cheese” because parents are begging their daughter to quit fiddling with that blade of grass, or stop bunching her pretty dress in her hand. So please don't worry about any of that - let's just embrace the “imperfections” and let the kids be, well... kids.

Weekend sessions are generally booked 3-9 weeks out, but we usually have more flexibility if you can make a mid-week day afternoon work.

how it works
All our booking is handled electronically via our secure website. We'll email you a booking link to pay the retainer and sign the contract, which secures your session date. You will receive an online client portal to access payment history, remaining invoices, and a copy of your contract.

Once you've booked we'll work to find the perfect location for your session based on what type of scene you are looking for. We're here to support you in making this the most stress-free and enjoyable photo session you've ever experienced. Feel free to send along photos of outfits you are considering. Our styling advice is all part of the experience, should you want it.
03 session prep
how it works
Your gallery will be carefully curated, hand-edited and delivered via an online link 2-3 weeks from our session date. Feel free to share with family and friends - you'll get unlimited downloads. Don't forget to store multiple backups. You are free to print your images wherever you please, or order professional prints and products via our online storefront. Then hang them up all over your walls for endless swooning!

Because I aim for scenes that feel organic and natural, I don’t really use many props, though I will usually bring a blanket for you all to sit on. But if you have something meaningful and personal you want to bring, let’s include it! I love when my families come prepared to engage in an activity they enjoy together. Bring a picnic, or some of your kids’ favorite books to read. If board games are your family‘s Friday night ritual, let’s capture that!
I embrace the notion that we are all perfectly imperfect, just the way we are. I aim to capture the authentic love you all share, so no... I won't make you look 30lbs thinner or 10 years younger. But if your toddler falls and scrapes his cheek, I might be able to work some light photoshop magic on his very temporary boo-boo. Reach out with a pic and I'll let you know. (Retouching can be added to your package for $50/hour - all subject to artist discretion).
I love fur-babies and am always touched when families want to include theirs in our session! We'll need to make sure the location allows dogs and abide by all leash rules, of course.
Photos capturing the whole fam-bam together are such a treasure for families especially when some of them live out of town! Extended family sessions do require a bit more time and work on my part, so please reach out for a custom quote.
We sure can - or anywhere else you've got your heart set on! I love a good road-trip! Lifestyle sessions beyond a 35 mile radius from 92008 are subject to a travel fee though. (And any permit fees, if required, will need to be covered as well).
