It’s been a while since I’ve shared a family session and that’s a shame because I’ve had so many great ones!  And especially now that summer is in full swing I wanted to look back on this summery golden family session with the T family!

For their San Marcos photo session, we chose an open field filled with golden grasses, a rustic trail, and the most dreamy light. This is one of North County San Diego’s hidden gems!  The grove of eucalyptus in the background perfectly filters the golden hour sunlight, creating a creamy soft backdrop.

What really made this session though was the rad energy these guys brought!  There’s nothing better than taking pictures of families that absolutely adore each other. It makes my job so fun when my families are relaxed and just eager to love on each other. All I need to do is capture their love.

This little girl stole my heart from the beginning! She started out just a little camera shy, but once she warmed up her personality really blossomed. Seeing her playing and cuddling with her parents was darling!  It’s always fun when families have an excuse to get a little silly with their kids. Whether it’s playing in the dirt, swinging them around, or just making goofy faces with them. There is no better way to capture photos of little ones than to let them do what they do naturally. There was a log and it was the perfect place to do just that. Those fun giggle-filled photos never fail to make me smile!

I always try to sneak in a special moment for the parents too. I mean, when was the last time they had photos taken just the two of them? Maybe their wedding? Here Mom and Dad even got to share a tender moment when the baby girl walked a little way down the path. Their romance was short-lived because she turned and ran back to them pretty quickly, haha! 

I’m dying over the heart cutout in the back of her dress too… Isn’t that just the cutest little detail?  Mom’s flowy maxi dress is gorgeous too!  They are a pretty great example of what to wear for family sessions, actually! (For more Style tips, click here).
